Adirondack Frostbite News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Frostbite, proud member of the United Hockey League, announced today that the team has re-signed defenseman Bob Rapoza for the 2005-06 season. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
This season will be Rapoza's tenth professional campaign. He started last season with the UHL's Missouri River Otters, before coming to the Frostbite for the final 29 games of the season. During his time in a Frostbite sweater last season, the 31-year-old posted six goals and seven assists, and added four points in six playoff contests. Rapoza also played in six games with the Adirondack Ice Hawks in the 2002-03 season.
"Bobby came in late last season and helped stabilize a young defense," Frostbite General Manager and Head Coach Marc Potvin said. "This year, with the veterans we are adding, his composure and versatility will be better utilized. A team can never have enough experience on the blue line."
Rapoza has played in 377 career UHL games with Adirondack, Missouri, Asheville and Dayton, tallying 171 points (43 goals and 128 assists). In 617 career professional games, he has posted 306 points (96 goals and 210 assists).
Adirondack opens the 2005-06 regular season on Friday, October 22 with a road date at Richmond. The Frostbite open the home portion of the schedule on Saturday, October 23, also against the RiverDogs, with face-off set for 7:35 p.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
Season tickets for the 2005-06 season are still available. For more information, or to place your order, call the Frostbite office at (518) 926-7825. Individual game tickets go on sale at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office on Saturday, October 8, at 10:00 a.m.
