Adirondack Frostbite News Release

DANBURY, CT - The Adirondack Frostbite completed a home-and-home sweep of the Danbury Trashers, picking up a 3-1 win in front of 3,005 fans at Danbury Ice Arena. With the win, the Frostbite move to within six points of the first-place Trashers with three games in hand.

Danbury scored the only goal of the opening period at the 13:09 mark. J. M. Daoust fed a pass Troy Smith at the blue line. Smith took a wrist shot from the left point that deflected off of Kris Tebbs' body and rolled past him into the goal for Smith's fifth of the season.

The Frostbite pulled even 7:32 into the second period with a power-play goal. Hugo Belanger took a long-range wrist shot from the center point that beat Sylvain Daigle to the near post for his 30th goal of the season.

Just 2:05 after Belanger's goal, Adirondack took its first lead of the night. Ryan Bennett gathered in a loose puck in his own end, and skated the length of the ice, leaving three Trashers in his wake. Bennett got free in front of Daigle and jammed a shot through his five-hole for his 21st of the year.

Those two goals were more than enough for the Frostbite as they held on to the 2-1 lead until the 19:52 mark of the third period when Greg Koehler scored into an empty net to set the final.

Tebbs picked up his fourth straight win, finishing the night with 34 saves.

Adirondack's four-game road trip continues on Tuesday with a 7:05 p.m. face-off in Richmond against the RiverDogs. All of the action can be heard on WCKM 98.5 starting with the pre-game show at 6:45.

The Frostbite return home on Saturday, hosting the Elmira Jackals at 7:35 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office, or by calling (518) 798-0202.
