Frontenacs Will be Making Changes to Management

Kingston, ON - The Kingston Frontenacs have announced that they will not be offering General Manager Darren Keily a new contract. His contract is set to expire August 12th. "We have decided to move in a different direction for the future. At this time, I want to thank Darren for his commitment to our organization spanning the last several seasons. Darren has been a trusted member of our organization and I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors," said President and Governor, Doug Springer. "I'm very excited for the future of Frontenacs' hockey. I take comfort in having an elite coach like Paul McFarland here to lead us in the coming seasons. It's no secret that we have a talented team, and I believe that this core group of players should make the next couple of seasons a very exciting time for the organization and our city," continued Springer.

President and Governor, Doug Springer, has also reinforced his commitment to recently named Head Coach Paul McFarland. McFarland is set to return to the Frontenacs' bench for the 2020/2021 hockey season after three seasons spent as an NHL Assistant Coach split between Florida and Toronto, respectively. "We feel privileged to have Paul here running the day-to-day operations of our organization. Paul's commitment to our organization ensures that our players will receive the best development so that they can become productive members of society and achieve their goals of one day being professional hockey players. Paul is a proven leader and a fantastic coach, he's a big part of this program moving forward," said Springer. "We feel extremely confident in Paul's ability to lead the daily operations of our club. Our vision is that the next General Manager understands our commitment to Paul and is someone who will be able to compliment Paul's skillset," emphasized Springer.

The search for a new General Manager will begin immediately. "In the coming weeks I want to explore numerous options to fill this position. Considering the stability within our organization with Paul, and our great coaching staff, I'm comfortable taking as much time as we feel is needed to properly go through the hiring process. This will be a very important decision for the organization," said Springer.
