Kingston Frontenacs News Release
The Kingston Frontenacs are pleased to announce the have signed free agent forward David Mazurek to a contract. Mazurek, originally selected by the Barrie Colts in the 2nd round, 31st over all in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection played last season with the Stoney Creek Jr.B Warriors.
"David is a player who comes in with a lot of grit and jam," said General manager Doug Gilmour. "We signed him because we see him as someone who will compete hard and lead by example to the younger players on our club."
Playing parts of two seasons with Barrie, he appeared in three games as a 16 year old, and then 44 his next season as a 17 year old. He also appeared in seven play-off games.
"David was a highly sought after free agent this past summer and our club is excited that he chose to be a Frontenac," added Gilmour.
Mazurek will join the Frontenacs at training camp which opens Sunday, August 28th for physicals and medicals. On-ice starts the next morning.
