Columbus Clippers News Release
Hello from The Coop!
I hope everyone survived the weekend. I have to admit, I'm ready for Spring! Thank heaven Opening Day is in 24 days! April 3rd can't come soon enough.
Let me catch you up on what is going on at the ball park.
The Nationals are suppose to make their second round of cuts this afternoon. We never know for sure who will be on the team until they arrive in Columbus but this cut might give us an idea.
The team will work out at The Coop Tuesday, April 1st at 7 PM and again at 1 PM on Wednesday, April 2nd. The workouts are open and free to the public. Please enter the stadium through Gate #2. After the afternoon workout is the "Meet The Team" Party at GameWorks at Easton Town Center. The party starts at 7 PM. The cost is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. This is a great chance for our fans to get the know the team up close and personal. It is always a lot of fun!
If you have a group that is interested in fund raising opportunities with the Columbus Clippers, please give Krista Oberlander a call at the stadium at 614-462-5250. You can also e-mail her a koberlander@clippersbaseball.com.
We are busy getting everything ready for the beginning of the final season at The Coop. We have a lot of cool promotions for you this season. Personally, I think the Enos Slaughter and Willie Stargell figurines are amazing.
Every day, Krista is getting deliveries of all sorts of cool souvenirs. I have already bought my Cooper Stadium commemorative T-shirt. They are really nice and are very high quality.
Have you checked out the progress of Huntington Park on clippersbaseball.com lately? The steel structure of the grandstand is going up as well as the building out in left field. These workers amaze me with what they can accomplish in the dead of winter!
Season tickets and the Opening Day Double Play tickets are selling vey well. Remember...Season Ticket Holders of Record at Cooper Stadium have first priority to retain their similar seats and plans on a seniority basis when the team moves to Huntington Park. Don't be left out in the cold! (Sorry, bad pun after this weekend!)
With the Double Play Deal you can purchase your Reserved Seat ticket(s) for the final Home Opener at Cooper Stadium in 2008 - AND - receive a like number of Reserved Seat Tickets for the Home Opener at the new Huntington Park in 2009. This makes a nice gift for the baseball fan in your family. I bought a pair for my family.
