Everett AquaSox News Release
EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett AquaSox (17-12) fell to the Hillsboro Hops (13-16) in seven innings. Due to inclement weather the day before, the Frogs were scheduled to play a doubleheader, but even more rain caused a second rain out.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both Reece Hampton and Spencer Brickhouse hit solo home runs in the top of the second, giving Hillsboro an early lead. Carter Bins crushed a home run over the left-field fence in the fourth inning, putting the score at 2-1.
Zach DeLoach scored on a fielding error in the bottom of the fifth, tying the game. The following at-bat, Joseph Rosa put the Frogs in the lead with a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing Bins to score their third run.
Tristin English and Axel Andueza each hit an RBI single in the top of the sixth, putting the Hops back in the lead, 4-3. Before the end of the inning, Brickhouse doubled and Andueza scored, extending Hillsboro's lead to 5-3.
WRAPPING IT UP
At the plate, the AquaSox registered seven hits including two doubles and one home run. On the mound, LHP Brandon Williamson pitched 5.2 innings with 12 strikeouts.
