Frisco Fighters News Release
FRISCO - The Fighters never trailed in defeating the Arizona Rattlers, 52-42, at home Saturday night. Frisco (5-0) remains the only undefeated team in the Indoor Football League.
TJ Edwards and Jimmy Smith both had rushing scores and Phazione McClurge pulled in a 40-yard touchdown pass from the former in the initial frame.
McClurge reeled in another strike from Edwards with 2:55 remaining in the first half and Smith pounded it in from a yard out before the halftime buzzer. The Fighters led by a dozen points at the intermission before Arizona's Jorge Reyna threw his fourth touchdown pass of the game about 11 minutes into the third.
That put the Rattlers (2-3) within five points, then Edwards found Jerminic Smith less than two minutes later to stretch the advantage back out. Bryce Crawford's two field goals rounded out the scoring for the home team.
Frisco will face off with the Duke City Gladiators for the second time this season on May 7. The Fighters won the first matchup, 60-55.
