Frisco Fighters Name 2022 Coaching Staff

FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco Fighters announced today the coaching staff that will be leading the team in the 2022 IFL Season. Joining Head Coach Billy Back and returning to the Fighters for their second season is Dave Ewart, Daniel Raudabaugh and Bobby Bounds. Additionally, the coaching staff will include Qasim Mitchell, Bill Serna, Anquanius Frazier, Ameer Ismail, Andre Coles and Adam Shackelford.

"Having a coaching staff of this caliber with the knowledge and years of experience, both playing and coaching, is second to none in this league," Back said. "Every person on this staff has a resume longer than an indoor field and all came on board with the same goals in mind. I'm excited to see this staff get to work."

Dave Ewart - Defensive Coordinator/Assistant Head Coach

Ewart brings over 30 years of coaching experience to Frisco. He served as an Assistant Coach with the Tampa Bay Storm for seven seasons before being named Head Coach where he served for three seasons. Ewart then became the Defensive Coordinator of the Arizona Rattlers for two seasons before moving to the Jacksonville Sharks in 2018.

Qasim Mitchell - Offensive Line Coach

Mitchell comes from the Spokane Shock where he previously worked under Coach Back. He played college football at North Carolina A&T where he won All-Mideastern Athletic Conference first team honors and was named the Conference Lineman of the Year his senior year. From there, Mitchell spent nine years in the National Football League before transitioning to coaching.

Bobby Bounds - Defensive Line Coach

Bounds is returning to the Fighters for his second season as a Defensive Line Coach. Bounds has coached at the high school, college, and indoor football levels and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Fighter's defensive line.

Bill Serna - Special Teams Coach

Serna has worked on Coach Back's coaching staff for the last five seasons and most recently spent time with the Spokane Shock.

Anquanius Frazier - Defensive Backs Coach

Frazier, a former IFL defensive back, played for Coach Back in 2013. Before his career in the IFL, Frazier played at Tyler Junior College before transferring to East Texas Baptist where he was named to the second team All-American Southwest Conference his junior year. After his four seasons in the IFL, he began his coaching career with the Tucson Sugar Skulls where he served for two seasons.

Ameer Ismail - Linebackers/Defensive Assistant

Ismail is a decorated veteran of the Indoor Football League. He played three seasons in the League, earning two First Team All-IFL honors and was the 2012 IFL Defensive Player of the Year before transitioning to coaching in 2014. Ismail was hired as the Defensive Coordinator of the Cedar Rapids Titans for one season and had great success. From there he would become the Defensive Coordinator of the Tri-Cities Fever and the Spokane Empire before taking a Head Coaching position with the Bloomington Edge in 2017. Most recently, Ismail was the Defensive Coordinator / Recruiting Coordinator for the Kalamazoo College Hornets.

Andre Coles - Offensive Assistant

Coles has years of experience playing and coaching in the Indoor Football League, serving as Assistant Offensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coach with the Jacksonville Sharks in 2018. Prior to his coaching career, Coles played quarterback for Kutztown University in Pennsylvania.

Daniel Raudabaugh - Quarterback Development/ Offensive Assistant

Raudabaugh is returning to the Fighters for his second season as an integral part of the coaching staff. Raudabaugh attended Miami University as the football team's quarterback where he finished his career ranked fifth all-time passing pards, third in all-time career completions and third in the school's all-time pass attempts. After college, Raudabaugh played in the AFL for the Dallas Vigilantes and Philadelphia Soul where he earned many accolades and was a two-time Arena Bowl Champion.

Adam Shackelford - Director of player Personnel / Senior Offensive Consultant

Adam Shackelford brings more than 35 years of involvement in the sport to the Fighters. Shackelford is a long-time coach in both Spokane and Tri-Cities and masterminds the recruiting process and defensive breakdowns.

The Frisco Fighters kick off their 2022 season on the road against the reigning Champion Massachusetts Pirates on March 12 with a 6:05 p.m. kickoff.
