Midland RockHounds News Release
Sunday evening, Frisco scored three runs in a dramatic ninth-inning rally, defeating the RockHounds, 4-3. It took just one pitch Monday for the RoughRiders to "re-light the fuse."
Teodoro Martinez sent the first pitch of the game right back up the middle, and the RoughRiders went on score three runs in the top of the first. Nine innings later, that "hat trick" was still the difference in Frisco's 6-3 win.
Frisco has now won three-in-a-row in the series, and the wins are crucial for the RoughRiders as they battle Corpus Christi for the first half title in the Texas League South. For the second consecutive night, Frisco's win at Rocky Town helped the 'Riders gain a game on the first place Hooks, with San Antonio ripping Corpus Christi, 10-4, and bringing Frisco to within one game of the top spot. There are seven remaining (in the 70-game half), with Frisco hosting Corpus for four games (beginning Wednesday) in the Metroplex.
