RoughRiders can't muster enough offense in a 4-0 shutout loss to Corpus

The RoughRiders had just six hits, but no extra-base hits as Corpus shut out Frisco 4-0 Friday night. Andy Van Hekken (6-3) looked impressive throwing eight scoreless innings, striking out six. Elvis Andrus reached base twice on a single and walk for Frisco.

Corpus scored a run in four different innings. Neftali Feliz allowed just two runs, but only one was earned as he suffered his third loss of the season. Mitch Einertson had a solo homer, his ninth on the season for the Corpus' offense.

Feliz went five innings, allowing just one earned run on six hits while striking out six. Brennan Garr and Trey Hodges each allowed a run in relief. Van Hekken walked only one and struck out six in his eight frames.

Julio Borbon singled to extend his hitting streak to 18 games, a season-best for any RoughRider.

The RoughRiders and Rockhounds will begin a three game set beginning tomorrow as LHP Zack Parker will toe the rubber for Frisco. The game is set for 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on TXA 21.
