Friday's Game Suspended Due To Rain

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The JetHawks got off to a fast start with a pair of runs in each of the first two innings, but rain arrived at Municipal Stadium after the fourth and the game was suspended with Lancaster leading the San Jose Giants, 4-1.
Jason Martin doubled for the second time in as many nights with one out in the first to start the offensive attack. Ramon Laureano followed with an RBI triple and Nick Tanielu kept the line moving with an RBI single.
In the second inning, Kritian Trompiz brought in a run on a sacrifice fly and the JetHawks added another on a San Jose error.
The Giants scored their lone run in the bottom of the second inning when Jose Vizcaino Jr. launched a solo home run to left field.
Andrew Walter, making just his third career start, struck out six over 3.2 innings. The only hit he allowed was the home run. Eric Peterson came on to record the final out of the fourth and struck out the only batter he faced to strand a pair of runners in scoring position.
The game will be continued on Sunday at 1 p.m. Sunday's regularly scheduled game will follow the completion of Friday's suspended and will be a seven-inning game.
The JetHawks and Giants continue their four-game series Saturday night at Municipal Stadium. Trent Thornton will start for Lancaster. First pitch is at 5 p.m., with the pre-game coverage beginning at 4:40 p.m. on AM 1380 and jethawks.com.
