Willmar Stingers News Release
MANKATO, Minn. -* Friday's game between the Willmar Stingers and the Mankato MoonDogs has been postponed due to heavy rain and poor field conditions at Franklin Rogers Park. The two teams will now play three games Saturday, July 16, beginning at 4:05 p.m.
Willmar and Mankato will resume their previously suspended game from June 21 in the bottom of the 12th inning at 4:05 p.m. Upon the conclusion of that game, the teams will wait 30 minutes and then play two seven-inning games to make up the contest originally scheduled for Friday night.
Nick Judkins will lead off the 12th inning for the Mankato MoonDogs in a game that was suspended in an 8-8 tie on June 21 when a downpour started to fall at Franklin Rogers Park. Chris Gonzales is scheduled to pitch for the Stingers when the game resumes.
Following the tripleheader Saturday, Willmar will have three days off for the Northwoods League All-Star Break. Tanner Banks (Salt Lake College), Sean Dwyer (Florida Gulf Coast), Eduardo Gonzalez (Alcorn State), Ricky Knapp (Florida Gulf Coast) and Jason Leblebijian (Bradley) will represent the Willmar Stingers on the 25-man Northwoods League North Division All-Star Team at the All-Star Game July 18 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.
