Friday's Finale in Charleston Cancelled Due to Rain

August 17, 2018 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Columbia Fireflies News Release

CHARLESTON, WV - Friday's game against the West Virginia Power has been cancelled due to rain. The two teams are not scheduled to face one another again this season, therefore, the game is cancelled and will not be made up.

One inning was completed on Friday before a rain storm hit and the tarp was called for. The game did not restart after that. Neither teams scored in the first inning. Columbia starter Yeizo Campos struck out a pair of batters in the home half of the first. Because the game was cancelled, no stats will be logged.

Columbia begins a four-game series against the Suns in Hagerstown, Maryland, on Saturday. First pitch in the opener is scheduled for 7:05 ET. Righty Luc Rennie (2-2, 2.33) is scheduled to face Suns righty Andrew Lee (4-2, 4.11).

You can listen to the action on FOX Sports Radio 1400 AM, ColumbiaFireflies.com and the iHeartRadio app starting at 6:45 p.m.
