Strong Performances from Ziegler, Parra, Geraldo Not Enough

Kannapolis, NC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, lost 6-3 to the Kannapolis Intimidators on Friday night.

With the score 1-0 Intimidators in the third inning, Jeffry Parra would tie the game with his seventh home run of the season. The Intimidators would once again take the lead 2-1, but the GreenJackets would respond. In the top of the fifth inning, Malique Ziegler would knock in Parra with a double into left field. Then Manuel Geraldo would bring around Ziegler after a single to left field. This would bring the score to 3-2 GreenJackets.

Over the next two innings, the Intimidators would respond with four runs to take a 6-3 lead. That score would hold till the end of the game as the Intimidators pulled off the win in the finale. Geraldo ended up being the player of the game for the GreenJackets by going 3-3 with two walks and a RBI.

The GreenJackets will now head to Asheville to take on the Tourists in a four-game series. First pitch tomorrow at McCormick Field is set for 6:05 pm.

After the seven game road trip, the GreenJackets will once again be home against the Intimidators. Promotions include our last Thirsty Thursday, along with College Football night. Friday we will have an Auggie Bobblehead giveaway for the first 1,000 fans. Saturday we will have a fireworks show and our SweetWater 90s themed jersey. Then to end the series on Sunday, we will have Bark in the Park!
