Fort Wayne Freedom News Release

Despite a format change, officials with the Fort Wayne Freedom announced this morning, game broadcasts will continue to air on WGL-1250AM, including SaturdayÂ’s Midwest division game with the Peoria Rough Riders.

“Summit City Radio Group was gracious enough to give us the opportunity to look around and find the best fit, and we found there is no reason for us to go anywhere else. We'll keep it on 1250-AM,” Rich Coffey the team’s managing partner explained.

“The only thing that changes is the format that leads into the games and would air after the game. We will keep our same crew. Fans should notice no change in the quality of our broadcasts."

Monday the station dropped its sports format for the current “standards” format billed as “the greatest songs of all time" using the moniker "1250 The River."

INdigital TelecomÂ’s FreedomCast will continue and is available online at www.fwfreedom.com

To the fans of “In the Huddle” a weekly coaches show from Fricker’s, there is good news. Details are being finalized, it will continue as a weekly event for fans. For more information contact the Freedom at 260-422-2293.
