Erik Rockhold Named UIF Special Teams Player of the Week in Week Nine

Bluecats kicker Erik Rockhold has been honored as the UIFÂ’s Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in EvansvilleÂ’s victory over the Tennessee Valley Raptors in week nine.

The Evansville Bluecats defeated Tennessee Valley 48-24 at Roberts Stadium. Rockhold contributed 12 of EvansvilleÂ’s 48 points. Rockhold was a perfect 3 for 3 on field goal attempts for the game and converted on 3 of his 5 extra point attempts. The field goals were from 19, 25, and 44 yards. It was the first time since week three against Lexington that an Evansville kicker connected on all of his field goal attempts.

Originally from Shelby, North Carolina, Rockhold played in college for Appalachian State. He also kicked in one game last year for Manchester in AF2.

This Saturday night, Erik Rockhold and the first place Evansville Bluecats (5-2) travel to Sioux Falls to take on the Sioux Falls Storm (5-3). Game time is set for Saturday, May 21st, at 7:05pm at the Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Bluecats will return home next weekend on Saturday, May 28th when they take on the Peoria Rough Riders at Roberts Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:05pm.
