
Free Ticket to Memorial Day Game for Veteran and Active Military Members

(Fort Mill, SC) -- The Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox are proud to salute American veterans and active Military members during a season-long tribute in 2012. With that, all veterans and active Military members will receive a free ticket when they show a valid Military ID at the Knights ticket office window on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28. First pitch of Monday's Memorial Day game is set for 2:15 p.m. and gates will open at 1:00 p.m.
The Charlotte Knights have teamed with the USO of N.C., Uncle Bob's Self Storage, OrthoCarolina and Conder Flags for a season-long Military Appreciation series, which initially began on Opening Day. The series will continue with the games played on Sunday, May 27 and Monday, May 28, along with the games on Sunday, September 2 and Monday, September 3. The first 1,000 fans will receive a flag courtesy of Conder Flags.
As part of the series, Charlotte Knights players will wear special camouflage jerseys in honor of the Military. A season-long jersey auction to own the game-worn jerseys is currently going on at knights.milbstore.com . Players will also wear the jerseys on Wednesday, July 4.
The Knights are also looking for fans to donate special "rack pack" items this season and will be collecting toothbrushes and shaving cream during the upcoming eight-game homestand at Knights Stadium.
Sunday's game features a special tribute to Military families, as well as post-game fireworks thanks to Time Warner Cable, 1110 WBT and Carolina Weekly. On Monday, the Knights will have a special pre-game on-field ceremony which will feature veterans of recent wars throwing out a ceremonial first pitch.
