Frednats Hot Stove Banquet this Weekend

In baseball, the hot stove league is the sport's off-season. The phrase does not denote an actual league, but instead calls up images of baseball fans gathering around a hot stove during the cold winter months, discussing their favorite baseball teams and players. A Hot Stove Banquet allows the baseball community to hear directly from the FredNats staff about all of the exciting things to expect during the upcoming season, and do hear directly from the Washington National about their minor league prospects!

WHY: The FredNats will be hosting a Silent Auction during the event, featuring sports memorabilia from sports teams from all over the country including autographed items from the Washington Nationals, and exciting items from local area businesses. 100% of the proceeds from the silent auction and the tax deductible portion of tickets will benefit the following organizations: Sunshine Ballpark Foundation, Thurman Brisben Center, Friends of the Rappahannock, Gladys P. Todd Academy, Micah Ministries andFredericksburg Area Museum.

WHEN: Sunday, January 26th, 2020

5:00pm- Doors open and Silent Auction begins

6:00pm- Program and plated dinner

WHERE: Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center Ballroom

WHO: This year's keynote speakers are Mark Scialabba, Washington Nationals Assistant General Manager of Player Development, and Tripp Keister, FredNats Team Manager. They will provide their thoughts on the current Nationals team, the World Series victory and the Nationals' top prospects, including potential players on the inaugural FredNats team.

Other notable attendees include Fredericksburg Nationals Owner and Chairman, Art Silber, FredNats President and CEO, Lani Weiss, FredNats Treasurer, Seth Silber, FredNats Executive Vice President and General Manager, Nick Hall, Carolina League President, Geoff Lassiter, Fredericksburg Mayor, Mary Katherine Greenlaw, Fredericksburg Director of Tourism and Economic Development, Bill Freehling, former United States Congressman, Tom Davis and the entire FredNats front office staff.
