
Frederick Keys Swept by Black Bears on Wednesday Night

Frederick, MD- The Frederick Keys (13-15) were defeated by the West Virginia Black Bears (16-13) on Wednesday night by a final score of 4-3 from Monongalia County Ballpark.
The Black Bears scored three in the 5th inning against Keys right-hander Zak Szabo (Sinclair High School) after starting right-hander Geo Rivera (Walters State Community College) pitched 4.0 shutout innings while striking out four.
Frederick answered back in the 8th with two runs on an RBI groundout by Harold Coll (San Jacinto College) and an RBI single by Dominic Freeberger (UNC Asheville). West Virginia extended the lead to 4-2 in the bottom of the 8th on a sacrifice fly.
Nander de Sedas (Missouri) singled in a run to make it a one-run game in the 9th but Dylan Hoy (Marist) grounded out with the tying run on first to end the night.
Frederick's next game is Friday, July 8 vs Trenton with first pitch scheduled at 7:00 pm from Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium.
