Frederick Keys News Release
Frederick, MD - The Frederick Keys (13-14) were defeated by the West Virginia Black Bears (15-13) on Tuesday night by a final score of 4-2 from Monongalia County Ballpark in seven innings.
A four-run second inning is all that West Virginia needed to secure the win, with the runs coming across on a sac fly, infield single, bases loaded hit batter, and a bases loaded walk against Frederick starter Jonathan Pintaro (Shorter University).
Offensively for Frederick, shortstop Harold Coll (San Jacinto College) was a triple shy of the cycle, going 3-for-3, including his first home run of the summer to left-field. Catcher Carlos Guzman (Northwest Florida State College) continued his solid road trip with a 2-for-3 night at the plate. First baseman Anthony Herron Jr. (University of New Orleans) also collected an RBI single up the middle in the 2nd inning.
Frederick's next game is tomorrow, Wednesday, July 6 at West Virginia with first pitch scheduled at 6:35 pm from Monongalia County Ballpark.
