Brevard County Manatees News Release

VIERA, Fla. - The Milwaukee Brewers announced on Tuesday that right-handed relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez, a four-time Major League All-Star, will join the Brevard County Manatees roster.

Rodriguez, also known by his nickname "K-Rod", is the all-time Major League Baseball single-season saves leader as he recorded 62 saves with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim back in 2008.

Rodriguez burst onto the scene in 2002 with the Angels as he won five games that postseason as a 20-year-old rookie to help the team to the World Series title.

K-Rod led the American League in saves in 2005, 2006 and 2008. He signed as a free agent with the New York Mets in 2009 and was with them until he was traded to the Brewers on July 12, 2011.

In 31 appearances with the Brewers in 2011, Rodriguez went 4-0 with a 1.86 ERA as Milwaukee won the National League Central Division title.

He was granted free agency by the Brewers after the 2012 season. Rodriguez signed a minor league contract with Milwaukee last month.

Rodriguez is currently 25th on the all-time Major League Baseball career saves list with 294.
