January 29, 2012 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Erie Otters News Release
The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League have announced that center Dane Fox has been named as an injury replacement for the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Kelowna, British Columbia, which will take place on Wednesday, February 1.
Fox, who was ranked 48th in the midterm rankings by NHL Central Scouting, has seven goals and three assists in nine games with the Otters since being acquired by the team on January 5 from the London Knights.
Saturday night, Fox scored his first career OHL hat trick in a 7-4 win over the Sudbury Wolves.
"He's very deserving and it proves him right," Otters General Manager Sherry Bassin said. "He'll prove that he was the right choice as one of the top players in North America."
Fox joins Adam Pelech as the Otters representatives to the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. The last Otters player to participate was Andrew Yogan, who participated in the 2010 edition of the Top Prospects Game.
The Otters return home to Tullio Arena Friday night against the Brampton Battalion. Saturday night, it's Team Poster Night presented by DRS of Erie and the Erie Times-News with a meet-and-greet following the game against the Saginaw Spirit. Both contests start at 7:00 p.m. For tickets, call 814-452-4857 or log on to ottershockey.com.
