Fowles, Delle Donne and Vandersloot Accept Invitation to Attend USA Women's National Team Training C

CHICAGO, September 26, 2013 """" USA Basketball announced today that Chicago Sky WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Sylvia Fowles, Rookie of the Year Elena Delle Donne and Most Improved Player of the Year runner-up Courtney Vandersloot have accepted invitations to attend the USA Women's National Team Training Camp. The three Sky starters will attend the training camp held in Las Vegas at the Cox Pavilion on the campus of UNLV. The training camp begins October 4 and will run through October 6.

"I am very excited and honored to have been in invited to USA Basketball national training camp. It is an incredible opportunity to have the chance to represent our nation on the basketball court. I can't wait to get to Las Vegas and get on the court with the best players in our country," explained Delle Donne.

Fowles, Delle Donne and Vandersloot join 29 other training camp invitees including Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury), Maya Moore (Minnesota Lynx), Candace Parker (Los Angeles Sparks), Brittney Griner (Phoenix Mercury) and Skylar Diggins (Tulsa Shock) to name a few.

On the horizon for the USA Basketball National Team is the 2014 FIBA World Championships, which runs from September 27-October 5 in Ankara and Istanbul, Turkey. The team will also work to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games to begin August 5-August 21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The team will also take part in USA training camps and exhibition games.
