MILWAUKEE (Sept. 10, 2009) - Four veteran players have signed with the Milwaukee Wave for the 2009-10 National Indoor Soccer League season, including last season's assist leader and three other young stars.

Giuliano Oliviero, a forward from Vancouver, British Columbia, led the Xtreme Soccer League last season with 20 assists and finished second on the team with 40 points. A 15-year pro, Oliviero has a total of 1,040 points, including playoffs, in his career. He played two seasons with the Wave beginning in 1995, and then returned to the team in 2003. Oliviero scored a hat trick and added two assists in the 2005 championship-clinching game against Cleveland.

"Giuliano had a very good season last year moving to target full time," said Wave Head Coach Keith Tozer. "His experience and leadership have been outstanding and we are excited to have him back."

JP Rodrigues enters his third indoor season and second in Milwaukee. The 25-year-old defender ended last season tied for second in the league with five 3-point goals and tallied 24 points and 17 blocks. As a rookie with the Orlando Sharks, the Florida native recorded 30 points and 31 blocks to earn All-Rookie Team honors.

"It's great to have JP back," Tozer said. "He had a great first year with the Wave and has such a huge upside with his speed, his technical ability and his shot."

Nathan Sabich established himself as a solid defender in his rookie season out of Marquette University. He played in all 20 games and recorded four goals and five assists for 13 points.

Tozer said: "Nathan continued to improve each and every game. His speed is such a huge advantage for him along with his versatility of playing in the back and in midfield."

Another local college product, UW-Milwaukee's Tenzin Rampa, rounds out the group. Rampa earned an opportunity with the Wave after starring on the Wave Armada reserve team. As a rookie, he scored two goals and added three assists for seven points.

"Tenzin had a very good rookie campaign and will only get better," Tozer said. "His tenacity and willingness to learn has been an earlier key to his success."

All four players were part of the club last year, but needed to sign new contracts as part of the move to the NISL.

The Milwaukee Wave professional indoor soccer team is the longest-running soccer franchise in continuous operation in North America. The team celebrated its Silver Anniversary last season, and operates the largest summer soccer camp program in Wisconsin. For more information, visit milwaukeewave.com
