
Four TFC Academy Players Get Canadian Call Up

Toronto FC announced Thursday that four TFC Academy players have been invited to take part in the Canadian U-17 camp that will take place in Guadalajara, Mexico. The series of preparatory matches is in advance to next year's FIFA U-17 World Cup in Nigeria.
Attending from the TFC Academy are: midfielder Brennan McNicoll, midfielder/forward Jonathon Lao, forward Allando Matheson, and goalkeeper Garret Cyprus.
The Canadian team, coached by Sean Fleming, will play five exhibition matches against local club teams from November 21 - December 3. Their opponents include Chivas, Atlas, and Tecos.
The 2009 CONCACAF Men's U-17 Championship will take place next spring in Mexico. This will be the first time since 1996 that CONCACAF has scheduled a men's U-17 championship.
