Four Sea Dogs Listed in NHL Central Scouting's Final 2020 Draft Rankings

The final NHL draft rankings were released today by NHL Central Scouting. The list of the 217 top ranked North American skaters eligible for the 2020 NHL Draft included four Sea Dogs.
Jérémie Poirier - Defenceman - Ranked #18
Poirier had a strong showing this season in Saint John breaking the franchise record for most goals by a defenceman in a season with 20. 20 goals was also tops in the QMJHL for a defenceman. He was named to the Canada Russia Series in November where he represented Team QMJHL in games one and two of the series. Poirier also played in the Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Hamilton, ON, where he had a goal and an assist. Jérémie finished with 53 points in 64 games, second overall in the QMJHL among defencemen.
William Villeneuve - Defenceman - Ranked #99
Poirier's defensive partner William Villeneuve also broke franchise records this season. Villeneuve now holds the records for most assists and most points in a season by a Sea Dogs' defenceman. Villeneuve finished with 58 points in 64 games, tops among defencemen in the QMJHL and best among all Sea Dogs skaters. Villeneuve also took home the Sun Life Financial Brad Stanley Financial Services Ltd. Top Defenceman Award.
Charlie DesRoches - Defenceman - Ranked #179
The third defenceman in Saint John's "Big 3 D" is Charlie DesRoches. A native of Summerside, PEI, Charlie exudes confidence while playing a no nonsense style with very few mistakes. Charlie finished the season with five goals and 28 assists in 64 games and took home the Sea Dogs' Irving Oil Team Player Award.
Brady Burns - Forward - Ranked #207
Brady Burns had an impressive sophomore season almost doubling his point production. The forward from Port Williams, NS led the Sea Dogs in goals with 27 and was just one point behind Villeneuve for the team scoring lead. Burns was lethal on the power play with a third of his goals this season coming with the man advantage.
