
Four Players Selected for National Team Duties

MONTREAL - Defenders Daniel Lovitz and Jukka Raitala, as well as midfielders Samuel Piette and Lassi Lappalainen have been selected by their respective national teams for the upcoming FIFA international window.
Midfielder Samuel Piette has been selected by the Canadian national team to take part in the third Group A game of the Concacaf Nations League A, against the United States, on October 15 in Toronto.
Piette, 24, has recorded four assists in 44 games, including 30 starts, with the Canadian national team. He made his senior debut with the Reds at the age of 17, on June 3, 2012, against the United States. He has appeared in the last four Concacaf Gold Cup tournaments, in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019, while also appearing in several 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. He also represented Canada at the U17, U20 and U23 levels and played in the 2011 FIFA U17 World Cup in Mexico.
Defender Daniel Lovitz has been selected by the United States national team to participate in their first two Group A games of the Concacaf Nations League A, against Cuba, on October 11 in Washington, and Canada, on October 15 in Toronto.
Lovitz, 28, has played 10 games with the United States national team, making his international debut on January 27, 2019, in a friendly against Panama. He also played three games in the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup, appearing against Jamaica in the semifinals and then against Mexico in the final.
Defender Jukka Raitala and midfielder Lassi Lappalainen have been selected by the Finland national team for two Euro 2020 qualifiers, against Bosnia-Herzegovina, on October 12 in Zanica, and versus Armenia, on October 15 in Turku.
Raitala, 31, has played 46 games with the Finland national team, making his senior debut on February 4, 2009, in a friendly against Japan. He has appeared in several World Cup and Euro qualifying games, as well as appearing in UEFA Nations League and Baltic Cup games. Raitala also played in the Finland youth system, representing his country at the U17, U19, and U21 levels, and was named the Finland U21 Player of the Year in 2009.
Lappalainen, 21, has recorded two assists in six games with the Finland national team, making his senior debut on January 8, 2019, in a friendly game against Sweden. He recently appeared in three 2020 Euro qualification games. He also played with the U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 youth national teams.
