Denver Outlaws News Release
DENVER - Four Denver Outlaws players were selected to the 2014 MLL All-Star Game, the league announced on Tuesday. Denver's four All-Stars tie with Rochester and Charlotte for the most honors from any team this year.
The 2014 MLL All-Star Game will take place at 7:30 p.m. EDT at Harvard Stadium in Boston on June 26. This year, the Team MLL will face Team USA ahead of the 2014 FIL World Championships, which will be hosted in Denver this July. This is the third time the All-Star Game serves as preparation for Team USA.
Among the four players selected to this year's squad are two first-time honorees.
Below are the Outlaws' four 2014 All-Stars:
Attackman Eric Law (1st selection): Law earned his first MLL All-Star selection as he leads the team in goals (17), points (25), shots on goal (31) and shooting percentage (min. 10 SOG; .500) and ranks top-three in the league for each of those categories as well. The second-year attackman has recorded four hat tricks through the first six games of the season.
Faceoff Specialist Anthony Kelly (5th selection): Kelly will appear in his fifth All-Star Game and his second in a row with Denver thanks to his 85-155 performance through the first six games of the season. His .548 faceoff winning percentage ranks third in the league (min. 20 faceoff attempts) this year and Kelly recorded his 1,300th faceoff win, which ranks first all-time in MLL history, on May 30.
Midfielder Jeremy Sieverts (3rd selection): Sieverts was named to his third consecutive All-Star Game. He ranks first in the league for two-point goal (4), and tied for first in the league with three power-play goals on the season. Sieverts also ranks among the MLL's top ten for points (19) and goals (12).
Long Stick Midfielder Michael Simon (1st selection): Simon was named to his first MLL All-Star game due to his performance on both sides of the ball this season. Simon has two goals on as many shots this season, and five ground balls as he has proven to be a consistent and versatile defender.
