Four from NCFC Headline NASL Team of the Week

CARY, N.C. (Oct. 6, 2017) - Four players from North Carolina FC have been named to the NASL Team of the Week for Week 10 of the NASL Fall Season following NCFC's dominant 5-0 victory over Indy Eleven on Oct. 1. Kareem Moses, Austin da Luz, Nazmi Albadawi and Renan Gorne have all been named to the Team of the Week after standout performances in the big win.

The victory helped further reinforce NCFC's spot in the race to qualify for NASL playoffs, while serving as the club's largest margin of victory in an NASL match ever. In addition to the four members on the Team of the Week, the club also swept the Player of the Week (Gorne) and the Play of the Week (Albadawi) league awards this week.

Moses landed on the backline after another solid defensive effort helped lock in NCFC's fourth shutout in five matches. Moses won four duels and added three clearances, two tackles and one interception, while providing the assist on the opening goal.

Da Luz and Albadawi were selected to the midfield after both players helped control the center of the park for NCFC. Da Luz recorded an assist, and completed 44 passes. Albadawi added a goal for his fourth strike of the year, and completed 66 passes.

Gorne locked up a spot on the attacking line after scoring twice and assisting on another goal. The Brazilian also completed 23 passes and created a game-high five chances.

The selections mark the 10^th week in a row that a player from North Carolina FC has made the NASL Team of the Week. The team currently sits in a playoff spot at third place in NASL combined standings with 39 points.

NCFC will remain at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park to face Puerto Rico FC on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Since the matchup was slated to be a home game for Puerto Rico, all tickets will be only $10 and 50% of all ticket sales will go to the Carmelo Anthony Puerto Rico Relief Fund (https://www.youcaring.com/puertorico-956698) .
