
Foster Named JLS Ironman of the Week

Huntsville, AL- The af2 League Office has announced that Vipers defensive back/wide receiver Desmond Foster has been named the JLS Ironman of the Week for his performance in the Vipers 73-21 win over Daytona Beach last Saturday night at the Von Braun Center.
Foster, a product of Alabama State, totaled 8.5 tackles, along with an interception, and a pass breakup against the Thunderbirds. He also added three rushes for eight yards and a pair of touchdowns.
He is currently second on the team, behind Demetrius Derico, with 53.5 tackles, and has two interceptions on the season. Offensively, Foster has three catches for 16 yards, and eight rushes for 12 yards. Foster, is the second Vipers player to win the award this season, after Travis Blanchard was honored with the award on May 20th after rushing three times for 10 yards, and three touchdowns, collecting eight tackles, and three pass breakups in the Vipers 54-30 win over the Florida Firecats on May 17th at the VBC.
The Vipers return to action Saturday night, July 19th in Estero, Florida to take on the division rival Florida Firecats in the Germain Arena. That game can be heard locally on AM 770 WVNN/92.5 FM WVNN, or watched on NiFtyTV through www.af2.com.
The next Vipers home game is July 26th against the South Georgia Wildcats at 7:30pm CST in the Von Braun Center Arena. Tickets are available throught the VBC Box Office, or for group tickets, please contact the Vipers at 256-428-HISS (4477).
