Omaha Lancers News Release
OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Lancers in conjunction with the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that power forward Tom Craig has rejoined the Lancers for the 2009-2010 season. Craig posted 7 goals and 16 points in 56 games in Omaha last season. A 6'3", 220 pound forward, Craig brings a physical presence to a Lancers forward corps that is already loaded with talent.
"Competition up front at the forward position is incredibly tight right now," Lancers Head Coach & General Manager Bliss Littler said.
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Craig first entered the USHL with Tri-City during the 2007-08 season where he registered 5 goals and 9 points for the Storm. Before skating in the USHL, Craig logged 113 games with the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League from 2005-2008. During that time, Craig tallied 7 goals and 17 points to go along with 53 PIM.
Along with the addition of Craig, the Lancers will receive another boost up front with the return of 2nd year Lancers forward Ryan Daugherty who missed the first two games of the season with a knee injury. Daugherty, a 6'2", 185 pound forward from Allen, Texas, registered 6 goals and 16 points in 46 games with the Lancers a season ago.
Omaha returns to action tomorrow evening as they welcome the defending Anderson Cup Champion Green Bay Gamblers to the Omaha Civic Auditorium. Opening face off will be at 7:05 PM.
