Toledo Walleye News Release
Toledo, OH - Forward Kyle Rogers has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2013-14 season.
"I can't wait to get the 2013-14 season going," said Rogers. "Last year was a fun ride for us and the great fans of Toledo, but it left all of us wanting more. With a tremendous core group of players that the coaches brought in last year, I feel like we can continue to build off of that success and go forward."
Rogers has appeared in every regular season game with Toledo over the past two seasons. In 2012-13, he set new career highs in assists (31) and points with 46. The 28 year old is the Walleye All-Time leader in games played with 213 appearances. That number places him eighth All-Time in games played for a Toledo ECHL franchise. In three seasons with Toledo, Rogers has scored 47 goals with 79 assists.
"Kyle is a terrific leader and is so strong on ice," Head Coach Nick Vitucci said. "He does everything we ask of him. If we need to kill penalties, he does that. Score a big goal or set up a play, he does that. It is great to have him back."
Prior to skating with the Walleye, Rogers spent two seasons with the Toronto Marlies in the American Hockey League, and has appeared in 356 professional games in his career, 143 of those in the American Hockey League. The native of Philadelphia, PA also spent three years at Niagara University, where he appeared in 97 games and collected 40 points (18 goals, 22 assists).
