
Forward Croxton Signed to Two-Way AHL/ECHL Deal

Peoria, IL (August 24, 2006) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that forward Kevin Croxton has been signed to a two-way, American Hockey League (AHL)/ECHL contract with the Rivermen and their ECHL affiliate and 2006 Kelly Cup Champion Alaska Aces.
Croxton has been invited to join the St. Louis Blues, Peoria's NHL parent club, at the annual NHL Prospects Tournament, set to begin on September 8 in Traverse City, Michigan, that expands this year to feature eight NHL teams: Detroit (host), St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Columbus, Dallas, Atlanta, Minnesota and the New York Rangers.
Croxton, who will turn 24 in just over two weeks, completed a four-year, NCAA Division I career with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (ECAC) with 143 points (57g, 86a) in a school-record 147 games this past spring. Upon the conclusion of his senior season, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, enjoyed a 10-game AHL stint with the Springfield Falcons, notching four points (2g, 2a). As a senior, he captained RPI, leading the team in points (39) and assists (25) over 31 contests.
As a junior, Croxton played in all of the team's 38 games, notching a team-leading 25 assists; he ranked second in points (35) and third in goals (10). During his sophomore campaign in 39 contests, he led the team in goals (18), assists (21), power play goals (12) and points (39). As a freshman, he was named to the All-ECAC Rookie Team, registering a team-leading 15 goals, eight power-play goals and 30 points.

Rivermen President/CEO Bart Rogers also announced today that the team's Friday, March 2 road game against the Iowa Stars has been moved back one day to Thursday, March 1 at Wells Fargo Arena. Game time will remain 7:05 p.m. In addition, Rogers also announced that because of a Bradley Basketball game earlier in the day, the team's Saturday, February 10 home game against the Houston Aeros has been moved back to 8:00 p.m.
