SETTING THE STAGE: Tonight is the seventh and final meeting of the season between the Brahmas and the RiverKings...Fort Worth defeated Memphis 3-1 this past Saturday, Feb. 14 in Fort Worth...The Brahmas are 2-3-1 this season against Memphis, including a 1-1-0 record at the DeSoto Civic Center...Fort Worth is 6-8-3 all time against Memphis.
FORT WORTH NOTES: The Brahmas have struggled during the month of February, as they have lost seven of their last eight games and six in a row overall on the road...Fort Worth was last in action this past Sunday, Feb. 15, as they played at Bossier, losing 3-1 to the Mudbugs...Left wing Chad Woollard scored his team high 16th goal of the season in the loss...Defenseman Scott McCallum did not make the trip to Memphis because of a lower body injury; McCallum is questionable for all three Fort Worth games this weekend...D-man Stefan Katalina has helped on the Fort Worth blueline; in his first 6 games played with the Brahmas he is playing at an even rating...Center Aaron Davis has a Brahmas team high 4 goals and 5 points this season against the RiverKings.
MEMPHIS NOTES: The RiverKings have lost their last two games in a row, but they still are hanging on to the third playoff spot in the Northern Conference with 61 points...Memphis is one point ahead of Indy and three points in front of Wichita...Indy and Wichita do have three games in hand on the RiverKings however...Memphis winger Don Parsons is having another outstanding season for the RiverKings, he leads his team in points (64) and goals (31), and he is fourth overall in the CHL in goals scored...Parsons has been particularly effective against the Brahmas, with 10 points (7G/3A) in six games versus Fort Worth...D-man Derek Landmesser leads the RiverKings and is second amongst all CHL defenseman in assists with 39...Goaltender Mike Minard remains on recall with the St. John's Maple Leafs of the AHL, leaving second year man J.F. Racine as the RiverKings starter in net.
NEXT UP FOR THE BRAHMAS: The Brahmas will skate on home ice tomorrow night, as they host the San Angelo Saints at 7:30 p.m. at the FWCC...The game will be Home Depot Puck Night, as the first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive Brahmas pucks courtesy of Home Depot...The Brahmas players will also be wearing commemorative Home Depot jerseys for the game, which will be auctioned off in a live auction immediately following the game...This Saturday, Feb. 21, the Brahmas will host the Indianapolis Ice at 7:30 p.m...Saturday will be Youth Jersey Night, as the first 2,000 kids 12 and under that come through the doors will receive a Brahmas youth jersey...For more information, please contact the Brahmas office at (817) 336-4423.
