Kalamazoo Wings News Release
FORT WAYNE - For the second straight game goaltender Roman Will was able to keep the Kalamazoo Wings at bay. Will made 35 saves to lead the Fort Wayne Komets to a 3-0 victory over the K-Wings and in the process helped Fort Wayne to a two games to none lead in the best-of-seven Divisional Semifinal series.
Capitalizing on a power-play chance the Komets took the lead 15:26 into the first period when Garrett Meurs (1st) found the puck in a mad scramble in front of the net and scored on a rebound.
Remaining 1-0 until the final minute, Fort Wayne tacked on empty-net goals from Mike Embach (1st) and C.J. Severyn (1st).
Kalamazoo's Joel Martin made 25 saves in the loss.
The K-Wings will return to the Wings Event Center on Wednesday, April 22nd for a 7 p.m. face-off in game three of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series against the Komets.
