Game Preview

Looking to even up the best-of-seven series, the Kalamazoo Wings will face-off against the Fort Wayne Komets in game two of the Divisional Semifinals. The K-Wings lost to the Komets last night in game one by the final of 4-2.

Gergo Nagy and Denny Urban led the K-Wings offensive assault in game one. Nagy recorded a goal and assist, while Urban dished out two assist. Goaltender Joel Martin kept Kalamazoo in the game turning aside 33 shots.

Tying the league high for home wins during the regular season with 26, the Komets kept alive their home dominance in game one. Roman Will was brilliant last night making 28 saves. Drew Daniels and Shawn Szydlowski led the Komets in scoring with two points each.

In the first period of last night's game Joel Martin made a diving save. The save was number one during ESPN's Sportscenter Top 10.

The Most Exciting Play in Hockey

Kalamazoo's Ludwig Blomstrand was awarded the first penalty shot of the postseason last night. Blomstrand was held scoreless on the attempt.

Paving the Way

The K-Wings enter tonight looking to snap a streak. Dating back to last season, Kalamazoo has lost their last three playoff games.

Coming Through In the regular season forward Shawn Szydlowski led the Komets in scoring with 74 points (38 goals, 36 assists). Szydlowski, who notched two points (1 goal, 1 assist) last night shares the team lead in postseason scoring with defenseman Drew Daniels.

Where There's a Will There is a Way Komet goaltender Roman Will was a difference maker in game one. Will, who received first star honors, made 28 saves in last night's victory.

Boxed In Fort Wayne enters game two as the most penalized team in the league. The Komets are averaging 36 minutes a game.

Broadcasting Icon Tonight will be Komets broadcaster Bob Chase's 500th career playoff broadcast. Chase has called 499 of Fort Wayne's 505 playoff contents.
