
Former Wild Things Pitcher Patrick Stanley Signed by Tigers Organization

Washington, PA - The Washington Wild Things Presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, announced that former pitcher Patrick Stanley (2006-2007) has become the 24th Washington player to move into affiliated ball. Stanley was recently signed by the Detroit Tigers organization.
Stanley, a Lakewood, NJ resident and former Pace University star, played one season with the Bears, and five seasons in pro ball overall. The 24-year old right-handed pitcher, who was originally selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 16th round of the 2004 draft, spent two seasons (2006-2007) playing for the Washington Wild Things.
In 2006, Stanley had an 8-4 record in 22 starts, and a 2.72 ERA in 135.2 innings pitched. Stanley led the Frontier League in strikeouts (111), was 5th in shutouts (1), 3rd in innings pitched, and 2nd in games started while playing for the Wild Things in 2006.
In 2007, Patrick appeared in only four games before he had a season ending rib surgery.
Stanley completed the 2008 season with a 10-8 record and a 4.90 ERA with the Newark Bears. He chalked up a team record 151 strikeouts and allowed only 76 earned runs in 139.2 innings of work. His season was highlighted with 15 strikeouts in one game and his appearance in the Atlantic League All-Star Game.
The Wild Things will open their eighth season at home on May 22, 2009 when they host the League's newest team from Avon, Ohio. Season ticket packages are available at the CONSOL Energy Box Office or at the Wild Things' Team Store at the Tanger Outlets.
