Evansville Otters News Release
April 2, 2008, Evansville, IN - The Evansville Otters have announced the signing of former University of Evansville starting pitcher Adam Rogers. A Harrison High School graduate and four year starter for the Purple Aces, Rogers compiled a 4.42 ERA in 57 career starts with 13 complete games and 290 strikeouts. Otters' Manager Jason Verdugo is excited about the acquisition. "We look for Adam to play a big role on our staff this season. I'm sure the fans of Evansville are familiar with his success while with the Aces and I'm sure he will provide the Otter fans with much to cheer about as he did at the university." Rogers was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 31st round in 2006 and pitched out of the bullpen for five teams in the Jays' system reaching as high as AA last season. Rogers went 8-3 with a 3.61 ERA in his two seasons with the Blue Jays, striking out 69 and walking just 10.
