Former Massachusetts Pirates WR Juston Christian

WORCESTER, MA - Former Massachusetts Pirates wide receiver Juston Christian has signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.
Christian joined the Pirates for their championship run in 2021, signing with the team prior to the final game of the regular season. He appeared in just one contest but it was a memorable one, helping Massachusetts ub its first ever playoff game in the Indoor Football League.
Against the Bismarck Bucks at Phoenix Field at the DCU Center, Christian caught two passes. The first was a 15-yarder from quarterback Alejandro Bennifield late in the first half. The second from QB Sean Brackett came in the fourth quarter and was a 29-yard touchdown strike to secure the Pirates 44-19 victory, which was the first playoff win in franchise history.
Christian played four years as a wide out at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York and when he graduated, he had re-written the record book for the Red Foxes. The 5'11" 190 lb. a speedster from Owings Mills, MD appeared in 42 games, starting 28 and left as the schools' all-time leader with 34 touchdown receptions and 4,069 receiving yards. He also set the single season record with 15 TD receptions and tied the mark for most touchdown receptions in a game with three.
He signed with his hometown team, the Baltimore Ravens in 2019 as an undrafted free agent after a pro day that saw him run the 40-yard dash in 4.38; power through 16 reps of 225 pounds and display a vertical leap of 36 inches.
At Marist, Christian was a four-time All-Pioneer League selection and in 2018 was named an FCS All-American. He also led the FCS in yards per receptions as a freshman in 2013 averaging 23.6 yards per catch.
