Los Angeles Aftershock News Release
Los Angeles, CA - While former Los Angeles Stars Head Coach Burrel Lee was making his 19 month old son dinner his phone rung. "Coach AC Earl called and said that the Los Angeles Stars are not coming to play the Dragons as schedule tonight can you help." I responded I can call around and see what i can do. By 6pm (game time was to be 8pm) Burrel and 4 other players where in a SUV bound for Tijuana.
That's right 4 players. So what will we do the players asked "I am going to play also....48 minutes are not that hard" Lee had told his guys.
Then what shall we call the guys "The Renegades" played a 5 on 12 game vs the Dragons and fought down to the last minute. "We had them on the ropes and Coach earl looking like we are about to lose to a 4-man team and their coach," Renegades PG Jermaine Slider said. The game came down to the last 5 minutes and we just ran out of gas, but hey we played our butts off and Burrel helped in a big way," said Jimmie Rainwater.
We had a long drive back to Los Angeles so we didnt get the Dragons stats, but here are the ones from "The Renegades"
The final score was 135-115.....and that score does not so the effort that the 5-man team put on.
Burrel Lee III - 11pts, 10ast, 7reb, 3stl
Jimmie Rainwater - 22pts, 11ast, 12reb, 3stl
Andre Jackson - 26pts, 9reb, 5ast, 5stls
Thomas Gillespe - 16pts, 15reb, 6ast, 4blks
Jermaine Slider - 40pts, 10ast, 3reb, 5stls
We had a great drive, a great time and we thank Tijuana and the entire Dragon staff for a great time....
