
Harlem team under new ownership, management

Tampa Bay Strong Dogs News Release
Harlem, NY. Â Strong-s USA of New York, Inc. proudly announces that the company is the new principal owner of the ABA Harlem professional basketball team, the Harlem Strong Dogs. Â The President of Strong-s USA of New York is Mr. tatsuya Okawa, an expert in movement physiology and fitness training. Mr. Okawa is widely respected in the US as well as in his native Japan for his work with many professional athletes and teams. Â His clients include LA Dodger pitcher Hideo Nomo, San Diego Padre reliever Akinori Otsuka, several Japanese World Tennis Association players and Mark Asanovich, strength and conditioning coach for the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars. Â Besides representing major figures in American sports, Mr. Okawa is currently developing a 35,000 sq. ft sports training center in the Seven Oaks Community outside Tampa FL which is scheduled to open in May 2005.
Kenny Charles, native New Yorker and NBA veteran player, will lead the Harlem Strong Dogs as GM and Head Coach. Â "New team, new energy, new spirit. Â It is a pleasure to be associated with the breath of fresh air that the Strong Dogs bring to the ABA. Harlem is well represented by this organization," Coach Charles said enthusiastically. Â The Strong Dogs feature former St. John's standout Willie Shaw, streetball legend Tyron "Alimoe" Evans and Japanese point guard Moo Fujino. All remaining Strong Dogs home games will be played at the Riverbank State Park, located at 679 Riverside Drive, New York 10031. Â The Strong Dogs will host the Philadelphia Fusion in back-to-back games Sat, Jan 15th and Sun, Jan 16th, both games starting at 7PM.
