
Former Growler Brett Barrera Drafted by New York Yankees

Former two-year Growlers player Brett Barrera has been drafted 25oth overall by the New York Yankees. Brett spent the 2020 and 2021 Northwoods League season in a Kalamazoo uniform and posted a career .259 batting average throughout 95 games for the Growlers. Barrera has spent the past three years of his college career at Pac-12 powerhouse Stanford, winning a conference championship for the Cardinal during his time there.
The New York Yankees selected Barrera with their 8th-round pick that was the 25oth overall. Brett joins a long list now of former Growlers that have been drafted into the ranks of professional baseball with hopes of gracing an MLB field one day soon.
