
Former 'Birds doom Memphis

Memphis, Tenn. - Two former Memphis Redbirds teamed up to beat their old team Monday night in Albuquerque's 9-4 win at AutoZone Park.
The Isotopes scored seven runs in the fourth inning to bust the game open. Josh Labandeira's RBI-double started the rally and Scott Seabol's three-run homer finished the outburst. Albuquerque sent 10 men to the plate and rapped out six hits in the inning. Former Redbird John Gall terrorized his old team with four hits, including three singles, and knocked in the 'Topes first run of the game. Gall finished the series 8-for-15 with three RBI and three runs scored. Labandeira drove in two runs and had three hits in the Isotopes 13-hit attack.
Memphis jumped to an early lead in the first with a pair of runs. John Rodriguez drove in a run with a double and later scored on a passed ball. He finished the night with a pair of doubles. Tagg Bozied provided the rest of the offense with his fifth home run of the year and knocked in a run with a double in the sixth inning.
Jeff Fulchino picked up the win after allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits with nine strikeouts in seven innings. Troy Cate was pegged with the loss for the 'Birds. He gave up five runs, four earned, on six hits in 3.1 innings.
The Redbirds will begin an eight-game road trip tomorrow at Salt Lake. Randy Keisler will toe the rubber for Memphis against Salt Lake's Henry Bonilla. Game time is slated for 7:35 p.m. CST.
