
Former BC Lions quarterback Dave Dickenson retires

(Vancouver) Former BC Lions quarterback Dave Dickenson, who led the club to the club to its fifth Grey Cup championship in 2006 and was selected as the game's Outstanding Player, announced his retirement in Calgary today.
"I had the pleasure to work with Dave for many years in both Calgary and here with the Lions and on behalf of our organization I extend our best wishes on this special day," said GM and head coach Wally Buono.
Dickenson originally signed with the Lions in 2003 and over five seasons racked up a 33-14 mark as the team's starting quarterback. The 36 year-old passed for 13,573 yards on 979 completions with 90 TD's and departed the club following the 2007 season as its fourth-ranked passer all-time.
As a Lion in 2005, Dickenson established the CFL's highest recorded single-season completion percentage (73.98) as well as the highest quarterback rating in a single season (118.8).
