Forge FC News Release

The Canadian Premier League (CPL) and official league technical provider, Macron unveiled Thursday the custom-designed primary playing kits ahead of the 2022 season for Forge FC.

The 2022 Primary jersey has Forge FC returning to the club's roots with a primarily all orange kit inspired by the sparks from the strike of a hammer and represents the energy, ambition and hard work of the Hamilton community. The Sparks are featured prominently throughout the front of the jersey with pops of dark orange and grey in a tone-on-tone sublimated print and includes dark orange flames at the bottom of the jersey. The city of Hamilton pride is highlighted on the back of the jersey.

This year's jersey introduces the Legacy Patch that will proudly represent the two Canadian Premier League North Star Shields Forge FC won in 2019 and 2020 on the left sleeve.

CPL

We Are Many, We Are One! Divided on the field, but united in our hearts, the CPL celebrates our shared passion for soccer with this mantra on the back collar of all our kits.

Every jersey features the league's mission "For Canadians, By Canadians" on the inside neck - an everyday reminder of why this league exists and to inspire our mission to grow the beautiful game of soccer in Canada.

The icon of the Italian brand, the Macron Hero characterizes and identifies the technical garments. The embroidered logo features the human body and takes inspiration from the tip of the spear, by definition a representation of dynamos and speed. The Macron Hero symbolizes even more effectively the joy at the end of the challenge, the achievement of a target, fatigue, passion and determination and epitomizes the Macron philosophy: "Work hard. Play harder".

2022 Ornamental Updates

CPL Legacy Patch

Starting with the 2022 season previous CPL Champions will wear the League's Legacy patch on the left sleeve of their Macron jersey. This gold emblem features the number of Finals a CPL club has won since the inaugural season in 2019. For 2022, Forge FC will proudly don the CPL Legacy Patch for their Final wins in 2019 and 2020.

Names and Numbers

Macron Club jerseys will feature a new set of names and numbers on the back this season.

Inspired by the iconic Canadian Football moment in 1985 when a winning goal solidified Canada's route to their and currently only FIFA World Cup qualification. The collegiate-style numbers that immortalize these Canadian soccer heroes from decades ago will represent the numbers that will identify the future soccer heroes of the CPL, today.

Utilizing an equirectangular projection of the 49th parallel that unites our provinces, the unified line continues through the same region of each number to connect each player regardless of the squad number. Sublimation of the Canadian Premier League crest will be proudly showcased throughout the numbers.

This set replaces the original set introduced in 2019 when the Canadian Premier League was launched.

League Kit Information

The Macron 2022 new kits will make their debut on April 7 when the League's 2022 regular season begins. This year's primary kits provide a nod of acknowledgement to the community where each club plays. Each jersey features a unique graphic, symbol, image, or icon that represents their home.

While the look of each jersey is unique in design, developing high-quality custom kits with distinctive looks to provide the needed professional technical features while enhancing them with exciting graphic designs is the key to the Canadian Premier League / Macron partnership.

"Each new season substantiates the value and importance of a project like the Canadian Premier League, and we are particularly proud to have been part of it since its inception," declared Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron. "The friendship and respect built in recent years have been essential to working in perfect harmony and creating unique collections every year. Among the values that we share, respect for the environment is fundamental: the work that goes into designing and creating jerseys in Eco-Fabric made from 100% recycled plastic, in this sense, confirms the joint commitment we have to greater environmental sustainability. 'We are many We are one', now more than ever, expresses the strength of the Canadian Premier League. We wish all clubs a season full of sporting satisfaction to experience and share with their fans."

This season all Canadian Premier League / Macron kits will be made from Macron Eco Fabrics - made with a thread that is 100% PET recycled polyester and is certified by Global Recycle Standard.

PET is a material made of oil or natural gas and can be 100% recycled, returning to the market in the form of new eco-sustainable products. In particular, the PET gathered after its first use is reduced in 2 mm chips and subsequently treated to obtain a thread that guarantees the same performance of a virgin thread. The thread does not lose its original characteristics during its treatment and for this reason, may be repeatedly recycled. Last but not least, compared to virgin polyester, the PET recycled polyester has the advantage of requiring less energy during the production chain. For each produced shirt, 13 0.5 l bottles are recycled.
