Friday February 6, 2009 - The Montreal Juniors faced the Val-d'Or Foreurs on Friday night, losing by a score of 5-2.

Jake Allen and the Juniors did not get off to the start they hoped, letting in two early goals, by Marco Scandella and Cédrick Henley. The Juniors found themselves looking for their first goal entering the second period, unable to produce any first period offense.

The Foreurs tallied again early in the second, when Jonathon Hazen would score just 21 seconds into the period, ending goalie Jake Allen's night. With a 3-0 lead on the Juniors, Jake Allen was replaced by goalie Jean-Francois Bérubé. Finally able to find some offence, the Juniors would get themselves within one as Angelo Esposito scored his 22nd goal of the season and defensemen Alex Wall tallied his 8th.

With a score of 3-2 to start the third period, the Juniors kept it close with Bérubé making some key saves for his team. No match for the Foreurs tonight, Val-d'Or scored two more goals by Samuel Morneau and Keven Guérette-Charland, bringing the final score to 5-2.

The Juniors will take to the road tomorrow, against Gatineau, before returning home to face Baie Comeau on Sunday afternoon at 4:30pm.
