Ford Back In The Fold

Portland, Maine - The Portland Pirates announced today that Todd Ford has been signed to a Professional Tryout Agreement and Beau Erickson was released from his Professional Tryout Agreement.

Ford returns to the Pirates for the second time this season. The veteran goaltender played three late season games for Portland before returning to South Carolina for the ECHL Playoffs. In his three Pirates games the 25 year-old Calgary, Alberta native posted a 3-0 record to go along with a 1.33 goals against average and a .958 save percentage. In 29 career AHL games (with Portland, Texas and Toronto) Ford is 13-10-1 with a 2.94 goals against average.

Erickson appeared in one game for the Pirates, allowing one goal on seven shots in the third period of a 5-2 loss to Lowell on Saturday.

Pirates Playoff Hockey powered by Time Warner Cable begins tomorrow (Friday) night at 7 p.m. at the Cumberland County Civic Center as the Pirates play Game 1 of their best-of-seven Atlantic Division Semifinal Series against the Manchester Monarchs. Every fan attending the game will receive thundersticks courtesy of Time Warner Cable. Game 2 of the series will be played Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the CCCC with the first 1,000 fans into the game receiving a free cowbell courtesy of MaineJobs.com. Advance tickets for the opening round of Pirates Playoff Hockey powered by Time Warner Cable are $16 for Main Deck, $13 for Quarter Deck or $11 for Senior/Student/Youth in either seating location and are available at the Civic Center Box Office or by calling (207) 775-3458. Game day pricing will increase $2 per ticket in each level.
