Force's Jackson named U.S. Army Ironman of the Week

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA, April 12, 2005 – The Arena Football League announced today that Georgia Force wide receiver/linebacker Chris Jackson was named the League's U.S. Army Ironman of the Week.

Last week in his Force debut, JACKSON (6-2, 215, Washington State) scored four touchdowns in three different fashions against the Austin Wranglers helping lift Georgia to a 56-53 victory. Jackson set a new Force single-game record for receptions with 13 registering 133 receiving yards and two touchdown catches. He added one rushing score on one carry for a career-high seven yards and contributed on special teams with Georgia's first kickoff return for a touchdown of the season, a 57-yard score, racking up 73 return yards on two returns. On defense, Jackson made a season-high two tackles en route to being named the contest's Ironman of the Game.

This marks the seventh weekly AFL award for Jackson during his six-year career. He has captured five Offensive Player of the Week awards and two Ironman of the Week honors.

The Georgia Force (8-3) host their second of a back-to-back home stand when the Grand Rapids Rampage (1-9) visit Philips Arena on Friday, April 15th at 7:30 p.m. ET.
