Fargo Force News Release

The Force won in decisive fashion tonight against the Sioux Falls Stampede maintaining the lead throughout the entire game and winning by a score of 5-1.

After multiple chances, Fargo's Charlie Russell opened the scoring at 13:04 of the first period, cleaning up his own rebound on the right side of the crease after defenseman Leo Gruba shot from the point, putting the Force up 1-0.

Less than 20 seconds later, Cole Knuble kept the Force's momentum going with a goal of his own. Knuble's team-leading fourth goal of the year was a two-on-one snipe from the left circle, putting the Force 2-0.

A Force power-play led to a 3-0 Force lead with 5:57 left in the first period. A man-down rush for the Stampede transitioned quickly to another two-on-one for the Force, and it was Joe Palodichuk feeding Anthony Menghini for his third goal of the young season. The first period ended with the Force up 3-0.

A back-and-forth second period saw only one goal, a snipe from the point by Jakob Stender for his second tally of the year, giving Fargo a 4-0 lead heading to the third period.

The Stampede got on the board with a power-play goal late in the game, but the force didn't let up. Anthony Menghini notched his second of the game on an empty netter extending the Fargo lead to 5-1.

The Force head back home 2-0 on the weekend, and 4-1-0-1 on the year. Fargo hosts the Tri-City Storm on Thursday, October 20 at Scheels Arena for $2 Beer Night! Click the link to buy your tickets now!https://www.ticketmaster.com/fargo-force-tickets/artist/1174288
