
'Force season comes to an end

Sioux Falls, SD (March 22, 2006) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce season came to end last night after the Yakama Sun Kings defeated the Albany Patroons 132-114 (7, 0). In order for the âForce to advance to the CBA Finals they needed either team to win and record no more than 4.5 quarter-points. Unfortunately, Yakama recorded a quarter-points sweep and will now face off against the Gary Steelheads in the 2006 CBA Finals. Despite falling short of their goal to win back-to-back CBA Championships, the âForce had another successful season and would like to thank fans for their support throughout the season.
Let's take a look at some of the highlights from this past season:
-Finished the regular season with a record of 30-18 (.625), the third best winning percentage in franchise history.
-Finished the regular season with the best home record (21-3) in the CBA.
-Five CBA-to-NBA call-ups came from the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the most of any team in the CBA.
-Head Coach Dave Joerger was named CBA Coach of the Month for the month of February as he led the team to a 9-1 record.
-Sioux Falls won 11 straight games from February 10 - March 6.
-Noel Felix was named CBA Defensive Player of the Year after averaging a league-high 2.0 blocks per game. Corey Williams joined Felix on the CBA All-Defensive Team.
-Noel Felix was named to the All-League First Team and Corey Williams was named to All-League Second Team.
-Corey Williams finished the season with a league-high three triple-doubles, also tying the franchise record for triple-doubles in a season with Cedric Hunter.
